Loaves and Fishes

Our parish community participates in the Loaves and Fishes program, whose mission is to provide nutritious meals to the hungry of the Twin City Metro area in an atmosphere of hospitality at site locations where the need is greatest. St. Leonard’s has combined efforts with St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church and St. James Lutheran Church to prepare and serve meals on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, at the St. Stephen’s site at 2211 Clinton Avenue South. Assistance is needed with food preparation (2:30-5:15 pm), serving the meal (5:30-6:30 pm), and clean up (6:30-7:30 pm). Please contact the parish at 612-825-5811 for more information.

Food Shelf Collection

Our parish has an ongoing food collection, which is delivered to the Sabathani Community Center’s Family Resources Program. This food shelf distributes 588,000 pounds of food to 22,000 families on an annual basis. The Sabathani Community Center is located at 310 East 38th Street, just two blocks from our parish.
In addition, a good will offering is invited at our weekly fellowship. These proceeds are donated to Second Harvest Heartland Food Bank program.
